An overnight RV trip and a seasonal site solve different needs. Overnight camping gives you a reservation for specific dates. A seasonal stay gives you a recurring home base under a seasonal agreement. The right choice depends on how often you expect to visit, how you use your RV and what the agreement includes.
Holiday Acres is in Garden Prairie, Illinois, along the Kishwaukee River. Start with our overnight RV camping and seasonal camping pages, then compare the details below before choosing.
When overnight RV camping makes sense
Choose an overnight reservation when you have particular travel dates in mind or want to get to know the campground before considering a longer commitment. Have your RV type and length ready. The booking system uses those details and your dates to show available sites.
Holiday Acres publishes a two-night minimum for Friday arrivals and a three-night minimum for holiday weekends. Check availability for the full stay you intend to make. Do not assume an open site for one night will also be available for the rest of a weekend.
When to consider a seasonal site
Seasonal camping may fit if you expect to return regularly and prefer a familiar campground community. Before comparing the price with separate weekend trips, ask about utilities, extra charges, visitor rules, site requirements and the written agreement. The published starting rate alone does not answer all of those questions.
The listed 2026 season runs April 15–October 15, with a starting price of $2,970 with all discounts applied. That figure belongs to the 2026 season. Call 815-547-7846 for 2027 rates, availability and terms; do not carry a previous season’s quote forward.
Check the site fit and hookups
RV sites offer 30- or 50-amp electric service and water. Confirm the service and fit for the specific site you select. Waste disposal is available at the campground, but a sewer hookup at your campsite should not be assumed.
Review the campground map and ask the office about anything that matters to your setup. Useful questions include whether the available space fits your RV and vehicles and which arrival instructions apply. Site selection is guaranteed only for the days paid. Check with the office before changing sites.
Plan for check-in and the gate pass
Campsite check-in is 2:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m., in local campground time. Keep the office number and your reservation handy. If your arrival plans need special attention, contact the office before you travel rather than assuming an exception.
The guidelines list a $20 deposit per electronic gate pass, refundable at checkout when it is returned in working condition. They also allow two vehicles and one RV per site; inquire at the office about additional vehicles. The campground speed limit is 5 mph.
Compare the experience beyond the site
The campground offers a pool, volleyball, basketball, Ga-Ga ball and scheduled activities, plus Miles Bar n Grill, a store and laundry facilities. Check the amenities page and confirm operating hours and activity details with the office.
The river setting provides opportunities for bank fishing and permitted boating. River swimming and gas motors are not allowed. Ask about current access and conditions before paddling. A seasonal stay does not make a particular event or amenity schedule automatic; check current information for each visit.
Review cancellation and guest rules before reserving
Read the cancellation policy and campground guidelines before paying. Cancellation charges depend on how far ahead of arrival you cancel. Pets must be leashed and supervised, and visitors must register before entry. Private golf carts must be electric, insured and registered with the office.
