Planning and booking
Where is Holiday Acres located?
Holiday Acres is at 7050 Epworth Rd, Garden Prairie, IL 61038, along the Kishwaukee River in Northern Illinois, between Chicago and Rockford. See contact information and directions.
How do I book a campsite?
Use our online booking system to enter your dates, RV type and length, then choose an available site. Call 815-547-7846 for help with your reservation.
What types of camping and rentals are available?
Holiday Acres offers overnight RV camping, seasonal camping, dry camping, and cabins or rentals. Contact the office to confirm tent-site suitability and current rental options for your dates. Explore our ways to stay.
Where can I find current camping rates?
Rates vary by date and site. Check the booking system for overnight rates, or call the office for tent, dry-camping and rental pricing. Our rates and booking page explains minimum stays and published seasonal pricing.
How do I arrange a seasonal campsite?
Call 815-547-7846 with your RV type, length and preferred season. The published 2026 season is April 15–October 15, with rates starting at $2,970 with all discounts applied. Ask the office about availability, inclusions and fees; 2027 rates must be confirmed separately. See seasonal camping.
Arrival and campsites
What are check-in and check-out times?
Campsite check-in is 2:00 p.m. and cabin check-in is 3:00 p.m. Check-out is 11:00 a.m. for both, in local campground time. Contact the office if you need help planning your arrival.
Is there a minimum stay?
Friday arrivals require a minimum of two nights. Holiday weekends require a minimum of three nights. Review the booking information before choosing your dates.
What hookups do RV sites have?
RV sites offer 30- or 50-amp electric service and water. Selected sites also have sewer connections. For contractors and traveling workers, year-round 50-amp sites with sewer are available, subject to availability. Can I choose or change my campsite?
The online booking system lets you select from available sites for your dates and RV details. Check with the office before changing sites. Site selection is guaranteed only for the days paid. View the campground map.
What is the cancellation policy?
For cancellations 60 days or more before arrival, the deposit or payment is refundable minus a 20% administrative fee. At 31–59 days, it is refundable minus a 50% administrative fee. At 30 days or less, it is nonrefundable. Review the full guidelines and your reservation terms before booking.
Amenities and activities
Does Holiday Acres have a swimming pool?
Yes. Follow posted pool hours and rules. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No lifeguard is on duty. See amenities and activities.
Can I swim, fish or boat in the Kishwaukee River?
Swimming in the river is not allowed. Bank fishing is allowed, and boats must be electric-powered, paddle, kayak or row boats; gas motors are not allowed. Check current conditions and access with the office. Bait is not sold at the office.
Is there a restaurant at the campground?
Miles Bar n Grill is on site. Ask the office for current restaurant hours and service details before planning your meals.
What activities and events are offered?
The campground has volleyball, basketball and Ga-Ga ball, with scheduled activities that have included crafts, hayrides, games and holiday celebrations. Check the events page and office for confirmed dates and times during your stay.
Are there a store and laundry facilities?
Yes. Holiday Acres has a convenience store and laundry facilities, plus waste disposal services. Ask the office about current hours, supplies, service details and any charges.
Guest guidelines
Are pets welcome?
Pets are welcome but must be leashed and supervised at all times. Clean up after your pet. Pets are not allowed in amenity areas or buildings; confirm the policy for a specific cabin or rental before booking.
Can friends or family visit my campsite?
Visitors must register at the office before entering and must be with a registered guest. The published visitor fee is $5 per person for a day visit or $10 overnight. Day visitors must leave by 10:00 p.m. See the visitor guidelines.
What are the quiet hours and speed limit?
Quiet hours are 11:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m. The campground speed limit is 5 mph. Keep noise considerate of neighboring campsites throughout your stay.
Where can I get firewood for a campfire?
Firewood may be purchased at the campground store. Do not cut trees or branches, or remove bark. Check with the office about current campfire conditions before lighting a fire.
Can I bring a golf cart?
Private golf carts must be electric, insured and registered at the office before entering. The published registration fee is $19. Gas-powered golf carts are not allowed. Read the complete vehicle rules before bringing yours.
